Family Christian Center
Church History

In 2005, Pastor Tyrone Newman along with his wife, Valerie, heard and obeyed God’s Call to be the founders of Family Christian Center (FCC).  FCC held its first Worship Service on March 5, 2005 in the Masonic Temple at 395 S. Thomas Street in Pomona CA.  On August 28th, 2005, the first Family Christian Center baptism service was held at the home of Pastor & 1st Lady Newman where thirteen candidates were baptized.  Tuesday night Bible Study meetings began in September, 2005 and were held in the home of Rev. & Sis. Xavia Atkins.
In the first several months following the inception of FCC, several ministries were established to holistically meet the needs of men, women, youth and children.  FCC also has a Homeless Ministry, which has served over 200 people in downtown L.A. every month since it began in September, 2005.

In the years that followed, as a result of a relationship that developed between Pastor Newman and the Pastor of North Towne Christian Church in Pomona, Bible Study was moved from the Atkins’ home to North Towne Christian Church.  In 2010, with prayer and by God’s Favor, North Towne Christian Church was offered to FCC to use as its location for Sunday worship.  FCC remained at that location for one year and on September 4, 2011, God opened a Door for FCC to relocate to 1429 N Euclid Ave., in Ontario, CA., November 10th, 2019 was our last day at that location. We are now located at 1149 N. Gary Avenue in Pomona California

By God’s grace and with His help, we at FCC believe that “The Best is Yet to Come” as we continue to grow and endeavor to do His work in a manner pleasing to His sight.
